Continuing an inclination for public architecture, Paolo Flores tackled the inhumane conditions of publicly funded schools in the Philippines. The challenge of designing a quality learning environment with thirty to forty students in 63m² was approached with research on vernacular architecture and modern computational design methodologies. Lessons on geometry, ventilation, and materiality were applied to a free-running school on a highly urbanised site to prove that overpopulation and thermal comfort can coexist in the equatorial climate.
